Lightning Facts and Information

Our Detection System

Our system consists of two components. First is the Boltek Stormtracker which is a card installed in a PC and an antenna mounted on the roof. Information from the Boltek system is analyzed and mapped using Astrogenic Systems' NexStorm software.
For more Information, please visit the Boltek Website and Astrogenic Systems.

How Lightning Detection Works.
Lightning detection works by listening for identifying noises on the radio spectrum to determine the strength and distance of the lightning strike. The detector uses a series of directional antennas to determine the direction of the lightning. Software then plots it on a map.
